CL Bennett | Our Indy Children’s Author
Award-Winning Author

Beverly Hills Pre Teen Fiction Award Winner 2015

International Award Winning children’s author CL Bennett was born in the United Kingdom in 1973 and studied Art History, working in London and abroad.

After many years of being urged to write a book about her own growing family’s day to day haphazard escapades, she found inspiration to put pen to paper one summer after a chance visit to the eccentric and charming fishing port of Brixham in Devon.

With a tremendously silly name in mind, the glorious world of the Bugglepuff’s and the Magic Key was borne. Two years later on the 1st April 2014 the first book was published. A tremendously exciting moment for the author and reader too! Enjoy the first book, there’s lots more adventures to come.

One of our winners of Brighton Festival, nabokov theatre and Everyday Epic short story writing competition

I live in Brighton with my daughter Rosie and my dog Frankie, and I have been here since 1999, moving impulsively from London after ending up at a party in the basement of a record shop. I have always loved writing fiction as a hobby and promised myself that if I was one of the winners of the Everyday Epic competition, I’d start taking it seriously…

author-bio-staStorytelling Army | Our Romance Writer
The Brighton Festival and nabokov theatre Storytelling Army

Chris Ellis from the Storytelling Army has kick started our modern romance story. Brighton Festival worked with nabokov theatre company and Guest Director Kate Tempest to assemble and mobilise the Storytelling Army: a dynamic collective of people from all walks of life – including those who are homeless and vulnerably housed – who performed in unexpected locations throughout Brighton over the last weekend of this year’s Festival in May 2017.

During the Festival Lulu sponsored the Everyday Epic Story telling short story anthology were four lucky writers had the opportunity to have their stories combined with those of the Storytelling Army into an Anthology and published. Copies of the Everyday Epic anthology will be available from the bookshop and other good retailers. To find out when the book is available to buy, follow the social media channels.
